Valithria Dreamwalker is the first boss in the Frostwing Halls of Icecrown Citadel. This fight puts the focus of the raid directly on the healers as in order to overcome the encounter Valithria’s health must reach 100%. DPS during the entire fight are required to deal with a number of different trash spawns that have specific abilities that need to be prioritised in order to minimize raid damage and maximise heals landing on the dragon.
Tonight, heals were on the money and Valithria now stands free of the Lich King’s torment.

Professor Putricide is the last boss of the Plagueworks wing in Icecrown citadel, unlocked after slaying Festergut and Rotface and releasing the slime pipes in their rooms.
The encounter itself is relatively straight forward with three phases that introduce new abilities from the professor. It does however have a decent DPS requirement in order to beat the enrage and a large DPS race in phase 3 in order to burn the remaining 35% before the room is completely covered with slime.
Tonight Terror Australis were successful in their attempts and cleared for the first time the Plagueworks.

The Blood Prince encounter is the first challenge in the Crimson Hall of Icecrown Citadel and is made up from three characters that raiders would be familiar with from Northrend five man instances, Keleseth, Valanar and Taldaram.
They share the same hit point pool but only one can be dps’d at a given time. Each of the Princes have their own set of unique abilities that will prove challenging to an un prepared raid. Assignments must be given to people who have the capability of dealing with each of these abilities and includes the use of a caster tank.
Unprepared we were not this evening and the Blood Prince’s were defeated opening the path to the Blood Queen. Well done all.

Last night TA had another win in the Plagueworks. Festergut, a slightly less complicated twin of Rotface but with a much higher DPS requirement. Rotface has a similar strategy to that which people would be familiar from Naxxramas when up against Loatheb, spores must be distributed amongst the raid for a buff in order for the enrage timer to be beaten and avoid disintegrating the entire raid.

Well done to the team. Only Putricide remains to stay ahead of the game.

The second wing of Icecrown Citadel was unlocked last Tuesday and the fight continues towards Arthas and the retrieval of Frostmourne. The first encounter that TA went up against was Rotface, a very mobile fight with similar mechanics to continual positioning as Grobulus in Naxrammas with some additional annoyance’s to throw the raid off their game on first visit.
Thankfully, it didn’t prove too difficult and the guild were then peering over his hideous corpse in search for new epics.

Well done all. Festergut next.

After defeating Lord Marrowgar and Lady Deathwhisper on Wednesday night, TA continued to push on in The Lower Spire of Icecrown Citadel.
The Icecrown Gunship Battle was the next encounter the raid was to overcome and TA made light work of it. Although not particularly difficult this battle does require a certain amount of organisation within the raid and having twenty of the regular raiders already completing in their respective ten man groups earlier in the week, certainly contributed towards the ‘one shot’ success that we had this evening.

Deathbringer Saurfang the Lich Kings most powerful Death Knight was a little bit more challenging for the team, likely due to the small area that the encounter takes place and the requirement to stay out of melee range of five beasts that spawn regularly throughout the entire fight. As well as this Saurfang has some unforgiving abilities that basically makes victory nothing shy of perfect execution.

Congratulations to everyone that took part in this weeks raid schedule, and to all that picked up iLevel 264 items. That leaves the current Icecrown content cleared until the next wing is unlocked in just over three weeks time.

That’s it, the time has come where raiders must venture into the depths of the citadel in Icecrown to reclaim Frostmourne and free the trapped souls within. More importantly, kill Arthas and make him pay for his sins.
Arthas does not make it that easy though, first you must defeat his enslaved minions in their respective wings before ascending to the top of the citadel and fighting the Lich King himself.
Last night Terror Australis ventured into the Lower Spire and defeated the first two of these demons.
Lord Marrowgar, guardian of the Frozen throne and constructed by the Lich King from the bones of all adventures that have fallen to his wake. A basic encounter with an annoying whirlwind animation that makes it difficult to see what is occurring during his whirlwind phase.

Lady Deathwhisper, the supreme Overseer of the Cult of the Damned. A relatively straight forward encounter, but requires a sane amount of raid organisation.

Congratulations to the raiders who I am sure enjoyed a change from the Trial of the Crusader and stepping into a more classic raiding instance.

With Northrend Beasts defeated last week the guild found it much easier to do it again after reset this week giving us more time this evening to work on Lord Jaraxxus. The encounter itself does not change a great deal from normal mode, with the added requirement to burn the portals and volcano’s before beginning on the spawns they spew. It didn’t take long before the demon was lifeless on the ground next to the gnome that he so frequently torments and TA moved onto Faction Champions.
Again, the Faction Champions encounter didn’t change a great deal in Heroic mode with the mechanics staying the same just an increase of incoming damage. CC what you can, burn the rest.
Congratulations to the raiders of Terror Australis, that’s 3 of 5 down.. we might just get this done before Icecrown.

Terror Australis defeated Northrend Beasts in the Trial of Crusader last night after mixing up some of the strategies we have been using over the last couple of weeks.. worthy of note that is can be the simplest and most subtle change into your raids mechanics and approach to an encounter that pulls you through in the end both with survivability and reaching the common enrage timers that Blizzard favour to implement in most encounters these days.
Well done to the guys!

Terror Australis defeated Yogg-Saron last night with only three of the keepers for guidance. This was inspired by picking up the 30th [Fragment of Val'anyr].
As a result of this achievement we now have our first [Val'anyr, Hammer of Ancient Kings], which Samasia is now proudly sporting.

Congratulations all, its been a farming effort to get this completed.
