2008 comes to an end

Posted by draztik under Raid News
Doomwalker Terror Australis ended it’s “official” raiding season tonight with a Illidan kill in hope for a offhand glaive to complete our set. Following Illidan was a quick kill of Doomwalker, Doom Lord Kazzak and some old world Dragons for the sake of it.

The 2008 raiding season has been good for TA, a slow and steady pace through TBC content has allowed us to achieve our goal of completing what we consider the end game content from TBC in a time frame to minimize repetition.

With the huge class changes in 3.0 which is due out tommorrow, we might find ourselves back inside BT or Hyjal for a night or two , but for now its a months break on progression raiding before Wrath of the Lich King other than a number of social events coming up between now and then to complete certain achievements before the expansion.

Doom Lord Kazzak Big props to Akvek for taking a lead role in our raids for yet another season and taking us through the encounters for the last two years.

Warglaive of Azzinoth

Posted by draztik under Raid News
Terror Australis persistence in Black Temple continues from week to week, an effort to give many of our regular raiding team the chance at taking a item of achievement and significance in their Tier six sets through into the expansion.
Tonight, we progressed through The Reliquary of Souls, Mother and Council and then having a number of solid attempts at Illidan, the final attempt proved to be one of TA’s better executions with an almost flawless kill, furthermore we were rewarded for it.

Congratulations to Nerv on his [Warglaive of Azzinoth] !

Walther ([Chestguard of the Forgotten Protector]) - Wilderbull ([Chestguard of the Forgotten Vanquisher])
Inq ([Chestguard of the Forgotten Conqueror]) - Bel ([The Skull of Gul'dan]) - Foddz ([Bulwark of Azzinoth])

On a closing note:

With the release of Warhammer Online just this last week, the guild has seen an off number of online members outside of raid time, but when it comes to the regular raiding window, the commitment shown by our members enables us to be capable of providing results like tonight.

Nice work team, sometimes the click is deafening but when it does it makes a solid raiding squad.

Lastly, this could well be one of the last news updates for Terror Australis pre Wrath of the Lich King, however, if it is..then TA wishes you the best in the upcoming world and we will catch you at the end game.

Burning Crusade: Completed

Posted by draztik under Raid News
After three to four weeks of solid effort towards Illidan, Terror Australis dropped ‘The Betrayer’ this evening with what could be considered an almost flawless victory in Black Temple.

This milestone in TA’s raiding history is a tribute towards all raiders that have attended and given full effort in constructing, testing and working with a strategy that suites the team best. On just our second attempt this evening, it was that very strategy that was executed perfectly giving TA peace of mind that the content provided in the Burning Crusade could now be considered as finished prior to the release of the second expansion.

Congratulations to all that have given 110% percent over the last few weeks, and all that picked up goodies to prove that victory once again was TA’s.

The Harder They Fall…

Posted by draztik under Raid News
Terror Australis were victorious once again this evening, this time against Illidan’s council. After a devastating 1% wipe last week the team was motivated and focused on burying the four advisors of Black Temple into the steps that they guard and moving on towards the final encounter, Illidan himself.

For some time now Terror Australis has expressed their desire to complete the Burning Crusade, and now ahead of the schedule that was set when we first stepped into tier six content after the defeat of Lady Vashj… we are faced with our strongest opponent.

Illidari Council

We spent the second half of the night on the temple roof getting a feel for the first and second phase of the next and final boss and trying different approaches towards the encounter, including an all too familiar throw him something that he will have no idea what to do with….

Core to Illidan
It didn’t work :S

Tomorrow night the guild will spend the evening laying the foundations of a strategy that will lead us to victory over The Burning Crusade for both the Horde and the Deathsworn.

Good work all, congratulations winners on another successful evening.

Mother of Evil, Queen of the deceased

Posted by draztik under Raid News
The death of Mother Shahraz is not a time for mourning for Terror Australis, instead a celebration as the guild leaves another footprint of progression through Black Temple and collects their third pieces of the tier 6 armor.

Fatal Attraction had us hung up for a little while, whether it was aussie lag that allowed the de-buff to tick more than expected or whether we just needed time to adjust to something new and have the boss positioned correctly, who knows…. what I do know is shes dead now with no longer than one night spent.

Tomorrow night the guild will progress forward to Illidan’s High Council, where we will be put to the test in preparation for the self-proclaimed Lord of Outland himself otherwise know as The Betrayer.

Six in a night

Posted by draztik under Raid News

Terror Australis focussed their attention on Black Temple this week, the usual Wednesday night clear through Hyjal bosses after the Tuesday night reset was instead applied to Illidan’s stronghold. After the success last week on our first kill of the Reliquary of Souls, we now have a win against all encounters required to unlock the door to Mother Shahraz and last night those six were completed in a night, leaving Terror Australis two full nights to work on Shahraz.

If we had somehow previously progressed through Black Temple under Illidan’s radar I am sure after last nights carnage that he is well aware that the Aussie Battlers want his head on a stick and they want it soon.

Reliquary of Souls - 6th boss down

Posted by draztik under Raid News
Reliquary of Souls proved to be a challenge for TA but for two nights only. A nice change of pace of which the raid adapted quite smoothly too, a race against the clock but not an unachievable goal by any means.

R.O.S has now been added to the Terror Australis death list marking the first 6 bosses of Black Temple as completed and opening the doors to Mother Shahraz’s lair. A new domain for Terror Australis to venture into for next week.

Fantastic effort all.

TA beats ZA

Posted by draztik under Raid News

Blargg:
“It’s been a long time in the making. A 10 man Terror Australis finally beat ZA. With two minutes left on a clock, The lynx boss gave up and we stood victorious over Zul’jins four Generals. I can’t exacly say what went right tonight, everything just seemed to click. The run started just like every other run. The opening patrol did it’s best to slow the run down.

Followed by Darh imploding on … well we don’t know what. We hit the eagle boss with 16 minutes on the clock. Not much to say about the eagle kill except that it was as fast as the clear to bear.
With 28 minutes ticking down, after the bear kill, we were 1 minute up on our previous attempts. The raid was able to push through the scouts with only 1 angel on the Dragonhawk stairs. Sorry Sam, but we really have to work on that pull. That group seemed to always kill the clothies, Dragonhawk had been giving us grief for months.

Our good fortune continued with our fastest kill ever. 18 minutes remaining putting us with a 5 minutes lead on our past runs and we had a sniff of a win. A new theory sent us towards the stairs of Malacrass instead of the huts which paid off with the raid hitting the water in a tight group.

Bear Mount

An early pull on the 1st lynx pack after the water walk threaten to undo our run, but quick work by Choof to increased the tank numbers to three, saving the group. Finally the only thing separating us from freeing the annoying gnome was the lynx boss and 6 minutes. How i hate that gnome. After taking 30 seconds to rebuff and another 3m30s to pay proper respect to the lynx, it was all done.

If anyone is interested in our strats I’ll be happy to pass on all the details. But I will in add the people who have been running ZA and have been treating it like a full progression raid. Flasks, pots, food and weapon buffs is the norm.

I would like to thank all those that ran the instance.
Walther, Choofa (dps), Drexil (tank), Darh (dps) Blarrg, Alinth, Samasia, Holian, Draztik, Foraga (heals)

I would also like to take the time to mention the core of the ZA group, Zotha, Walt, Drex and Sam. Your input and ideas all helped keep this group working towards the end goal. There has also been a heap of people in the guild who runs with us on a semi regular basis. I think we need to get another 20 mounts to pay everyone back.

Here is looking forward to the next bear mount.”

2.4.3 patch notes

Posted by draztik under Patch Info

WoWInsider posts 2.4.3 patch notes.

Suspicions seemed to be confirmed. A number of the guildies were expecting a patch pre Wrath of the Lich King tempting players to spend the gold that they have been laundering all this time. This looks like the one, 1200 gold for a 22 slot bag… geebus!
